The Yogi government has approved the recruitment of 948 new positions in three universities of the state, including Guru Jambheshwar University (Moradabad), Maa Vindhyavasini University (Mirzapur), and Maa Pateshwari University (Balrampur). These include 468 temporary non-teaching posts and 480 outsourcing posts.
Administrative Efficiency and Employment Growth in Universities
Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said, “Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in higher education. The approval of new posts is a major step towards strengthening universities and positioning the state as a leader in education.
“Notably, the Chief Minister has consistently emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring both quality education and employment opportunities for the youth. The creation of new posts in universities is a concrete move to empower higher education and make the youth self-reliant,” he added.
Additionally, it will provide new employment opportunities for the youth of the state. The temporary non-teaching posts include pharmacists, electricians, junior engineers, assistant accountants, lab technicians, medical officers, and staff nurses, and will be filled through the Subordinate Service Selection Commission and direct recruitment. These posts will remain effective until February 28, 2026, and may be terminated as needed.
Under outsourcing, the GEM portal will fill 480 posts for computer operators, cleaners, security guards, gardeners, and drivers. All appointments will strictly follow reservation rules and relevant government orders from related departments.
This new initiative will ensure the smooth functioning of universities and provide employment opportunities for the youth, contributing to the progress of the state.
