The Uttar Pradesh government is taking a new step to provide better job opportunities for youth. Advanced Skill Training Centres will now be set up in every tehsil of the state. These centres will offer training not only in traditional trades but also in modern and emerging fields like drone technology, artificial intelligence (AI), solar energy, and other new-age skills. With this initiative, students will get access to advanced training near their homes. This will provide more opportunities to them.
Advanced Skill Training Centres at Tehsil Level
Until now, training centres under the Skill Development Mission were available only at the district level. As a result, students, especially girls, often had to travel long distances. With the new plan, this challenge will be reduced. The government believes that training at the tehsil level will especially benefit rural students. Children from poor and less privileged families will now be able to learn advanced skills at their nearest tehsil headquarters.
So far, more than 15 lakh young people have registered under the Skill Development Mission in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, around 7.68 lakh have already been trained, and nearly 6.77 lakh have been assessed. Moreover, many trained students have also been placed in jobs.
New Job and Self-Employment Opportunities
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal, said that the new training centres at the tehsil level will open doors for both jobs and self-employment. The courses will be designed according to the needs of industries. This ensures students can directly connect with the job market.
The government believes this initiative will empower the youth. It will help Uttar Pradesh build a strong base of skilled human resources. It will also contribute to the economic growth of the state as well as the nation.
