Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, celebrated its Foundation Day with a grand event. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored doctors and announced several development projects for the institute. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, senior officials, and doctors also joined the event.
Institute’s Achievements and Expansion
CM Yogi said the institute treats thousands of patients every year. Last year, doctors successfully performed over 33,000 surgeries and gave free treatment to more than 8,000 patients. The institute now offers advanced treatment for serious diseases, especially neurological problems. Soon, doctors will treat brain tumours with the modern Gamma Knife machine. An Advanced Neuroscience Centre will bring all neurological treatments under one roof so that patientsno longer need to travel to other cities or countries.
Honoring Doctors
CM Yogi gave several awards, including the Director Merit Award and the Centre of Excellence Award, to doctors for their dedicated service. He said the institute is now among India’s top medical centres because of its hard work. He also reminded doctors that good behaviour, sensitivity, and responsibility toward patients are the true signs of service.
Health Services in Villages
CM Yogi highlighted that the institute has expanded healthcare to rural areas. Doctors will now visit villages, listen to patients, and provide treatment directly. The government will also strengthen primary health centers with new plans. Six model medical colleges linked with RMLIMS will serve nearby districts. In addition, 72 districts now have telemedicine facilities from the institute.
New Plans and Investment
On this occasion, CM Yogi announced projects worth ₹298 crore for RMLIMS. These include an Advanced Neuroscience Center, a Gamma Knife machine, an advanced radiotherapy machine, a new 440-bed block, and a guest house. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak added that the institute will expand further and offer new facilities soon.
Education and Research
CM Yogi praised the institute’s academic and research work. He said RMLIMS will support smaller medical colleges, strengthen healthcare in Uttar Pradesh with modern technology, and continue public-oriented decisions.

CM Yogi said the institute has worked excellently even in tough times because of strong leadership and clear direction. He urged doctors to treat every patient with sensitivity and simplicity. Providing the right treatment and facilities is everyone’s duty.
