Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (September 25) inaugurated the UP International Trade Show 2025 (UPITS-2025) at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The 5 day event, being held from September 25 to 29. It is the flagship B2B and B2C platform of the UP government. It brings together thousands of exhibitors, business leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, highlighting the stateâs fast-growing industrial profile.
Grand Scale Event with Russia in Focus
This yearâs edition is larger than the previous ones, featuring over 2,400 exhibitors, 1,25,000 B2B visitors, and nearly 4,50,000 B2C visitors. The international partner country is Russia, making the event very important at a time when bilateral trade and energy cooperation remain under global focus. With the participation of Russian industries, officials believe the trade show will open up new opportunities for technology exchange, investment partnerships, and stronger long-term ties.
The theme of UPITS-2025 has been set as âUltimate Sourcing Begins Hereâ. Organisers have outlined three core objectives for this edition, innovation, integration, and internationalisation. A 3 pronged buyer strategy has also been crafted to attract not only global buyers but also domestic B2B and B2C participants.
Showcase of Industry and Tradition
The trade show is designed as a single platform for UPâs various industrial and cultural resilience. Key sectors on display include handicrafts, textiles, leather, agriculture, food processing, IT, electronics, and AYUSH. The event also seeks to spotlight the stateâs MSMEs, startup ecosystem, and fast-growing entrepreneurial base. Along with this, the exhibition offers a flavour of UPâs rich craft traditions, cuisine, and cultural identity.
Officials say the show aligns closely with national campaigns such as Make in India, Vocal for Local, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. It is expected to generate fresh investments, boost trade opportunities, and create new jobs while promoting the state as an attractive industrial destination.
Security, Traffic, and Arrangements
Given the scale of the event, authorities have deployed over 5,000 security personnel. It includes traffic police, women police, paramilitary forces, intelligence units, and special commandos. There is 4 tyre security with additional checks at the district border. Every movement around the Expo Mart complex is also tracked by drone surveillance and CCTV monitoring.
To manage large crowds, the traffic police have designed diversions across Greater Noida, with special parking zones created near the venue for visitors. Officials expect a major rush across the five days, as the trade show is likely to attract not only industry leaders but also the general public keen to witness the stateâs industrial and cultural offerings under one roof.
PM Modi to Visit Rajasthan Later in Day
After inaugurating the trade show, Prime Minister Modi will leave for Banswara, Rajasthan. There, he will dedicate development projects worth Rs 1.08 lakh crore, including the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project. The nuclear project is expected to significantly strengthen Indiaâs energy sector and push forward the countryâs long-term energy security goals.
