Uttar Pradesh received a major gift for roadways passengers today. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off 400 new buses from Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. These include double-decker, electric buses, and standard buses. The new buses are equipped with modern facilities to enhance passenger safety and comfort.
Modern buses for passengers
The new buses have CCTV cameras, panic buttons, fire safety devices, safety hammers at every window, and large luggage areas. The seats are designed for more comfort, and a separate seat has been provided for the conductor. Lucknow has also received four double-decker buses. CM Yogi said these facilities will make roadways travel safe and comfortable.
CM Yogi’s message and new appointments
During the program, CM Yogi Adityanath asked officials to end the habit of keeping files pending and stressed on teamwork. He said the public hearing and work progress must be fast. On this occasion, CM Yogi handed appointment letters to three women conductors. He also gave jobs to 1165 dependents of deceased employees.
Digital tracking, online services, and new initiatives
The event also marked the launch of the digital bus tracking system and a bus tracking app. With this system, passengers can check the real-time location of buses. CM Yogi released the International Driving Permit booklet and launched Transport Helpline-149.
In addition, 48 online services were started. The new system will make services like license, vehicle registration, and tax payment easier at village CSC centres. This will save both time and money for rural citizens.
Bus stations to match airports
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh announced that 23 bus stations in UP will be developed with airport-like modern amenities. These will be built on the PPP model with an investment of 3000 crore rupees. The foundation stone for seven bus stations will be laid soon. He also said 170 scrap centres have opened across the country, including 82 in Uttar Pradesh. The scrap policy will help reduce pollution.
Thus, new buses, digital services, and modernisation of bus stations mark a big step in upgrading public transport in Uttar Pradesh.
