600 Women Launch Startups in Uttar Pradesh Within a Year, Yogi Government Schemes Giving Wings to Aspirations

Educated young women are now considering business as a new option after their studies.

A new enthusiasm is visible in the world of women’s entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh. Last year, women made remarkable contributions under the CM Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign. According to administrative sources, in the past year, more than 600 women started different businesses, with projects worth over ₹29 crore running. Out of these, more than 150 entrepreneurs created their own identity.

Under the scheme, 139 women entrepreneurs established businesses worth ₹13.76 crore, while 130 women entrepreneurs set up enterprises with an investment of ₹13.89 crore.

The Yogi government gave each woman financial assistance up to ₹5 lakh so that they could build a strong base for their business.

Success Amid Household Responsibilities

In every condition, women chose the path of entrepreneurship along with household work, which improved their financial condition. Stitching, boutiques, grocery shops, and food processing are the main businesses. Besides city areas, women in rural regions are also starting new startups after receiving technical training. In the last three years, women’s participation increased under different schemes like the CM Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, ODOP Food Supply Scheme, and the Self-Employment Scheme.

Success Amid Household Responsibilities

Educated young women are now considering business as a new option after their studies. Young women are stepping forward in fields like garment manufacturing, handicrafts, artificial jewellery, digital marketing, and e-commerce.

Riya Saxena said that after Class 12, she started a beauty parlour and construction work. Two years ago, she took a loan of up to ₹25 lakh under the PMUVA scheme.

According to administrative figures, in the last year, more than 3,000 women received guidance from trainers and over 150 women registered their businesses. Now they are becoming an inspiration for others.

Modern Technology and T-Shirt Printing Business

Women in the Gomtinagar area are also attracted to the T-shirt printing business. Under new startups, they are sending products to the market through online orders and social media.

Despite local competition, these startups are receiving a good response. Experts say that in the coming years, the scope of women’s entrepreneurship will increase further. This will take Uttar Pradesh’s economy to new heights.

Growing Numbers Under Schemes

According to the state scheme, under the CM Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, 210 women entrepreneurs started startups in 2024-25 and 390 in 2025-26. In the same way, 24 and 81 women joined the ODOP Food Supply Scheme, while 61 and 12 women succeeded under the Self-Employment Scheme. Officials said new schemes are being prepared for women, which will further promote women’s entrepreneurship.

What is the CM Youth Entrepreneur Scheme?

The CM Youth Entrepreneur Scheme is an ambitious plan launched by the Uttar Pradesh government. Its main aim is to encourage youth towards self-employment. Under this scheme, educated and skill-trained youth aged 21 to 40 receive interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh to start their own business. Along with this, the scheme provides a margin money subsidy and interest relief for three to four years.

Young people have to contribute a percentage of the project cost themselves, but the poor and backwards classes get exemptions. This scheme gives opportunities for employment and makes youth self-reliant, which improves the economic condition of the state. The scheme also includes training, financial help, and technical support, which lead entrepreneurs towards success. The government’s goal is to connect ten lakh youth with self-employment in the next ten years.
