In the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, illegal constructions on government land have come to light, sparking administrative action. Several villages in the district saw people constructing mosques, madrasas, and marriage halls on government property without authorisation. Shockingly, a caretaker of a mosque also built a house on pond land and occupied it illegally. Upon receiving these reports, officials and revenue department teams conducted on-site inspections to verify the complaints.
Administration Marks and Gives Ultimatum for Removal
The teams, led by Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap Singh and his deputy, visited Salempur Salar village in the Achhoda Kamboh police station area first. They confirmed that a madrasa had been built on government land without approval. The administration issued a strict seven-day ultimatum for the responsible parties to remove the illegal structures themselves. Similarly, investigations in Raya Buzurg village of the Asmoli police jurisdiction revealed a marriage hall constructed on pond land and a mosque illegally erected on government property.
Officials also found that the mosque caretaker had built a residence on the pond land. The team marked these illegal constructions with red paint to clearly signal their status. The tehsildar warned that failure to remove these structures within seven days could lead to forcible removal by the administration.
Strong Warning and Possible Bulldozer Action
Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap Singh said that the government had received credible information about unauthorised encroachments. He emphasised that parties involved had been given time until September 20 to clear the illegal constructions. If they fail, the administration will undertake bulldozer action to reclaim government land.
This firm step is part of a wider crackdown on illegal occupation of public land in the region. Officials made it clear that such violations would not be tolerated. The administration aims to protect public property rights and ensure that government land is used appropriately for the welfare of the community.
