In the capital city Lucknow, a protest by the Samajwadi Party (SP) Women’s Wing made national headlines on Wednesday (3 September). The women’s wing workers, led by Neha Yadav, staged a demonstration outside the residence of BJP MLA Ketki Singh. Carrying water taps as symbols of protest, they accused the ruling government of neglecting public grievances.
The protest, however, took an unexpected turn when MLA Singh’s minor daughter, Vibhavari, confronted the workers and delivered a fiery response that soon went viral.
Vibhavari Singh’s Bold Remark Goes Viral
Amid the sloganeering, 16-year-old Vibhavari addressed the SP workers and said,
“My mother is not here right now, but it seems you think you can scare a 16-year-old girl. If you even dare to point a finger at me, my mother will rip you apart.”
Her bold comment instantly became the highlight of the demonstration. The event soon became a talking point in political corridors. People on social media portrayed Vibhavari’s stance as an act of fearless courage. Social media platforms quickly picked up the clip, with thousands commenting on the teenager’s confidence.
As tensions escalated, police stepped in to control the situation. SP women activists were forcibly detained and dragged into police vehicles before being taken to Eco Garden detention centre. Even while being taken away, the women continued raising slogans against the government, accusing it of trying to silence the voice of democracy.
Ketki Singh Targets Akhilesh Yadav
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Ketki Singh, who represents Bansdih in Ballia district, launched a scathing attack on SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Taking a swipe at him over his remarks regarding the Ayodhya bus service, Singh said, “When Akhilesh vacated the Chief Minister’s residence, where did all the government water taps disappear? He should first give an account of those taps, then he may comment on services.”
She further criticised the SP regime, alleging that “during SP’s rule, the condition of education was pathetic — schools became shelters where even cows and buffaloes were found instead of students.”
The Lucknow protest on Wednesday proved to be more than just a routine political demonstration. It turned intoa flashpoint of debate, dominated by 16-year-old Vibhaavari Singh’s viral outburst. While the BJP highlighted her statement as a symbol of youthful resolve, the opposition denounced it as evidence of rising political arrogance.
