Search Operation in Dense Forest
Acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, a joint team of the Army’s 9 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF began a search operation in Gudder forest. When the team reached a suspicious location, hiding terrorists opened fire. Security forces responded with heavy firing. Officials said that 3 to 4 Lashkar terrorists are still trapped in the jungle. Additional reinforcements have been sent to the area to ensure that terrorists cannot escape. The encounter is still going on.

Security agencies are interrogating him to know the motive behind his infiltration attempt.
Major Operations in August
Last month, security forces carried out two big encounters in the Valley. On 26 August, two terrorists were killed in the Gurez sector. One of them was identified as Bagu Khan, who was called the “Human GPS” by security forces. He wasactive since 1995 and had taken part in more than 100 infiltration attempts. Because he knew routes across the border, he was considered a major threat.
From 1 to 12 August, security forces launched Operation Akhal in Kulgam. After days of search and encounter, they killed Lashkar terrorist Haris Dar from Pulwama.
Security experts believe that continuous operations are breaking the network of terror groups. At the same time, strong vigil on the border is preventing infiltrators from entering India.
