The head priest of Bageshwar Dham in Vrindavan, Pt. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri will launch a ten-day ‘Sanatan Hindu Unity March’ from Delhi to Vrindavan on November 7. Covering nearly 170 kilometres, the foot march will conclude in Vrindavan on November 16.
Ahead of the march, a saints’ assembly was held on Monday at Krishna Kripa Dham in Vrindavan. The gathering was attended by storyteller Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. Over 200 saints and mahants from across the country were also present. The meeting discussed the discipline, religious decorum, and cultural framework of the march.
Not Just Religious, But an Ideological Movement
Dhirendra Shastri stated that this march is not merely a religious event. It is also an ideological movement. Its objectives include banning the sale of meat and liquor in the Braj region, purifying the Yamuna, and ensuring the singing of the national song at religious sites. He emphasised that playing the national song in temples and mosques would symbolise who truly loves the motherland. He further asserted that the march would be conducted with dignity and cultural decorum. Efforts would continue until all Sanatanis stood united.
Manoj Tiwari’s Call
During the program, MP Manoj Tiwari said that he cancelled all his Delhi engagements to participate in this march. He urged devotees that the time has come to awaken the Hanuman and Krishna within themselves. According to him, the march will serve as a medium of self-realisation and national consciousness.
Processions and Chariots to Be the Attraction
The march will feature tableaux of great personalities from various communities, Gau Raksha Rath, and Bageshwar Balaji Rath. Other religious chariots will also be involved. As in the previous march, Bundelkhand’s Khali Badri Vishwakarma, known for pulling chariots with his hair, may also participate this time. The massive gathering of devotees and the religious fervour are expected to make this march a special event.
