On Friday morning, Bhoomi Pujan for the seventh edition of the grand Ramleela took place on the banks of the Saryu, at Ramkatha Park, Ayodhya. Mayor Girishpati Tiwari and Ramleela Committee President Subhash Malik jointly performed the rituals with Vedic chants. This marked the formal beginning of the event.
The Ramleela will run from September 22 to October 2, every evening from 7 PM to 10 PM. Devotees across the country can watch the live telecast on YouTube and various TV channels.
Renowned film personalities will play iconic characters from the Ramayana. Puneet Issar will enact Parshuram, Raza Murad will portray Ahiravan, Rajesh Puri will appear as Lord Hanuman, Rakesh Bedi will play Janak, and Avtar Gill will become Vibhishan. Manish Sharma will bring the character of Ravana to life.
A major attraction this year will be the 190-feet tall Ravana effigy. Artists from Delhi will start building it from September 28. The massive structure will be a highlight for the audience. Other preparations are already underway.
Delhi CM and UP CM to Attend Grand Ramleela in Ayodhya
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will arrive in Ayodhya with several members of her cabinet. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh have also received invitations. This makes the occasion highly significant. Under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh is promoting “cultural connect.” Additionally, this grand Ramleela is a vital part of that vision.
