Ayodhya, known as the city of Lord Ram, is set to celebrate this year’s Deepotsav on an even grander scale. The Tourism Department announced that they will create a mesmerising and mystical sight by lighting a chain of lamps along the banks of the Sarayu River, Ram Ki Paudi, and all other ghats in the city. More than 26 lakhs lamps will light up the entire city. Additionally, efforts are underway to set a new Guinness World Record this year.
Ayodhya’s Deepotsav to Make History Again
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said preparations are progressing rapidly to give the Deepotsav a fresh look of grandeur and divinity. Since its start in 2017, the event has strengthened Ayodhya’s reputation across India and abroad. This year’s Deepotsav is special as it is the second celebration following the foundation of the Ram Temple. The organisers are planning to enter the Guinness Book of World Records with this event.
The minister added that the event will also host the world’s largest aarti on the Sarayu River. More than 1,100 saints, spiritual leaders, and residents will take part in the aarti. He emphasised that Ayodhya’s identity is not just limited to being a religious city but also represents a rich cultural heritage that will be showcased to the whole world.
Volunteers Will Play Key Roles
Students and volunteers will play a significant role in the success of the Deepotsav. They will be responsible for decorating, lighting, and counting the lamps. They will also ensure that all arrangements meet Guinness World Record standards. The Tourism Department is coordinating closely with institutions like Awadh University to support these efforts.
Principal Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Mukesh Kumar Meshram, said that the Deepotsav highlights the city’s cultural and spiritual traditions. He added that preparations are underway to make this year’s event more magnificent than before. Work at the venue will start three days in advance. From lamp decoration to lighting design, everything will follow Guinness guidelines.
The grand aarti on the Sarayu River and the millions of lamps decorating the ghats will strongly convey Ayodhya’s rich tradition. Domestic and international tourists attending the event will witness the city’s historical and cultural legacy. The Deepotsav is expected to enhance Ayodhya’s and Uttar Pradesh’s global recognition.
This celebration will illuminate Ayodhya and set a shining example of culture and faith.
