CM Yogi’s Stern Warning on Bareilly Violence: ‘Maulana Forgot Who Rules UP; We Responded in the Language He Understands’

CM Yogi said, “Earlier, during festivals, disturbances used to begin. But now, rioters will face such strict action that their seven generations will remember it. Sometimes people develop bad habits, which are not innate, and to correct them, one has to do ‘denting-painting.’

A program under the theme “Viksit Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047” was organised on Saturday (September 27) at Hotel Taj in Lucknow, the state capital. CM Yogi also participated in the event. On this occasion, discussions were held on the development of Uttar Pradesh and the state’s future goals. In his address, the Chief Minister spoke in detail about law and order, expressways, metro projects, and other development works. He also issued a stern warning to those who create unrest.

Yogi’s clear stand on Bareilly violence

CM Yogi said, “Earlier, during festivals, disturbances used to begin. But now, rioters will face such strict action that their seven generations will remember it. Sometimes people develop bad habits, which are not innate, and to correct them, one has to do ‘denting-painting.’ You must have seen the same yesterday in Bareilly.”

He further added, “A Maulana forgot whose government it is. He thought that if they blocked the road, we would do nothing. But we made it clear that there will neither be roadblocks nor curfews. However, the lesson that will be given will be such that his coming generations will forget to incite riots. It is not right to block the system like this. Before 2017, this was a common affair. But after 2017, we did not even allow curfews to take place. We ensured punishment for rioters by making them understand in their own language.”

Family and caste politics as a disease

Calling family-based and caste-based politics a sick mentality, CM Yogi said, “It was this diseased mentality that had made Uttar Pradesh a ‘BIMARU’ state. As a result, riots used to happen. Rioters were invited to the CM residence, honoured, and treated with respect. Power used to bend before professional criminals and mafia dons. Even the ruling party leaders went as far as shaking hands with their dogs. In every district, some mafia or the other was given the freedom to run a parallel government.”

Historical and economic perspective

Yogi Adityanath said, “In the 11th century, India’s population was around 60 crore. The country was considered a major centre of economic activity. During the time of Chandragupta Maurya, India’s share in the global economy was 40%. This dropped to 30% in the 11th century. By the 17th century, it shrank further to 25%. More than half of the population depended on agriculture. The rest relied on small and cottage industries. The British brought chemical substances and pesticides to the country. Their initial results seemed good but later caused harmful consequences.”

“The bulldozer is made for such people”

CM Yogi said, “For those who mislead society with false slogans and try to divide people in the name of caste and religion, I built the bulldozer. At the time of independence, India’s contribution to the world economy was more than one-third. But later, it declined to only 2%. India was reduced to the 11th economy. Today it has reached fourth place, and soon it will become the third-largest economy.”

Uttar Pradesh’s progress

CM Yogi said, “The people of Uttar Pradesh also have aspirations. In 1947, at the time of independence, UP’s contribution to India’s economic growth was 14%. By 2016, when we came to power, it had reduced to only 8%. The state had fallen to the rank of the seventh-largest economy in the country. In the last eight and a half years, the progress achieved in every sector is in front of everyone. Earlier, even imagining world-class infrastructure looked like a dream. Disturbances during festivals were common. But now rioters will be taught lessons so harsh that their seven generations will remember. To correct their bad habits, one has to do ‘denting-painting.’”
