The Uttar Pradesh government has given a big relief to poor and working families. The state has made changes in the Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana. Under this scheme, the daughters of registered construction workers and women workers will now get more financial support for marriage. Earlier, the aid amount was ₹82,000 for each couple. Now it has been increased to ₹1 lakh.
The Aid Amount Increased
Earlier, under Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojna, the couple received ₹65,000 in cash. Along with this, ₹10,000 was given for the bride and groom’s clothes. The organiser used to get ₹7,000 per couple. But now, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered to raise the total amount to ₹1 lakh.
Principal Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department, Dr. M.K. Shanmugha Sundaram, shared important details. He said, this help will be given only in case of mass marriages. At least 11 couples must get married at the same time to avail the benefit.
This change will bring relief to poor and worker families. It will reduce their financial burden during marriage. At the same time, it will strengthen the tradition of mass marriages in the state.
With this decision, the government aims to support labour families and ensure social welfare. The scheme is expected to help many daughters from poor homes, who will now receive more financial security for their weddings.
